Domain Name Changes

As of July 1 2018, all .AU domain names underwent a series of important changes.

Where previously .AU domain names have been operated through AusRegistry, on the 1st July 2018 those operations moved to Afilias

The biggest change is that you can now register .AU domains for 1 to 5 years, instead of the previous requirement of only 2. Registration terms are set by default to 2 years, but like other domain names, you can now select within the new range.

Now .au domains run for the first time on DNS nodes in every state in Australia, plus hundreds of DNS nodes in one of the world’s most massively provisioned and secure networks. This will improve the speed of delivery of every .au website and email.

While these changes do not effect the every day business owner, your email or your website, we beleive it is important enough information
