PLEASE NOTE:
Our Data Centre
provider will be undertaking power infrastructure upgrade works in planned
maintenance windows on the 15th and 16th of January and 5th and 6th of
February. The first two windows have been confirmed for 3am to 7am next Tuesday
15th and Wednesday 16th of January.
What we are doing
Our Data Centre provider will be undertaking the first stage of
switchboard upgrade next week. The upgrade work is schedule for maintenance
windows from 3am to 7am next Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th of January.
Why we are doing it
The upgrades are being made on direction of our Data Centre Service provider.
Upgrades to key Data Centre power infrastructure will provide VMA with
the opportunity to grow into a higher capacity allocation over time.
How we are going to do
it
The upgrades will be undertaken using a phased approach. The upgrades are
scheduled in organised time periods that align with low client usage, which
mitigates client service exposure. A detailed cutover plan has been developed,
and a thorough test plan will be completed following the cutovers. Rollback
plans are in place should issues arise during the switchboard cutovers.
Our provider has an obligation to our clients to provide minimal disruption to
their services during these upgrades. The cutover approach has been designed to
take this into consideration allowing for the shortest possible downtimes to
client services.
Although they would like to allow for up to a 4 hour window to
complete these cutovers we anticipate that each client service will experience
no interruption, or in the case of a small amount of identified servers and
services, for a minimal amount of time.
